Understanding STOK Systems
STOK Electric’s propulsion systems for boats are suitable for a wide range of vessels—from sailing yachts, motorboats, sloops, and tenders to commercial workboats. Our scalable systems cover power needs from 20 to 400 horsepower and are designed for both new builds and retrofits.
Range depends on your vessel size, cruising speed, battery capacity, and environmental conditions. We offer power and range simulations tailored to your needs. For example, on the fully electric Mira by Feadship, we achieved a range of approximately 130 km. Typically, we design for 4–10 hours of cruising at 5–7 knots.
Yes. With fewer moving parts and advanced marine-grade components, our systems offer high reliability, low maintenance, and proven performance in both leisure and commercial applications.
Absolutely. Retrofitting is one of our core specialties. Our systems are designed to simplify the conversion process with a fully integrated design and minimal wiring. The motor foundation matches the width of a typical diesel engine, making installation straightforward.
Charging time varies depending on charger power (3.3 kW to 66 kW) and battery size. A typical overnight shore charge is sufficient for most leisure vessels. Fast CCS charging is also available for shorter turnaround times in commercial use.
Our integrated systems use a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for safe and intelligent energy flow, combined with smart battery chargers and bidirectional converters for seamless onboard power management.
Lifespan depends on usage, but when properly maintained, motors and batteries typically last between 10 and 20 years. Our systems are engineered for longevity, high efficiency, and consistent daily performance across demanding applications.
We offer a rugged throttle, physical button panel, and full NMEA2000 integration. This gives you intuitive command and real-time insights on propulsion, battery status, and overall system performance.
Yes. All components are IP-rated and built for harsh marine environments. Our systems are already in use in coastal, offshore, and inland waterways.
Definitely. Our systems are designed for flexible energy integration, including solar arrays, shore power, and even hybrid gensets. We help design your onboard energy system to maximize efficiency and independence.
